About Me

This post is for the benefit of those who will be joining me in Prague.

I'm Alex, a history major at UC Berkeley originally from Los Angeles. I will be in my senior year in the fall, with one more semester to go after returning from Prague. My great loves include music, writing, teaching, cooking, traveling, and above all experiencing all the world has to offer. I am extremely excited to be going to Europe, especially as the CET program in Prague will give me a chance to do research for my senior thesis, which I expect to write on the changing perception of Jews in Prague since the near-eradication of its formerly thriving Jewish population after the Holocaust. My long-term career goal is to become a middle school teacher. Most importantly, my 21st birthday is September 16, and I hope to celebrate with my fellow travelers.

In the Beginning

Welcome to my travel blog! You are here because you are someone special to me that actually wants to hear about everything I do while abroad this fall. I've started this blog early partly because I am so excited about going to Europe and partly because I'd also like to record pre-trip events and goings-on. The date I arrive in Prague is August 25 - feel free to check back then for actual accounts of my travels.

In the meantime, have a great summer!
